Configuring Netscape 4.5 to use APANA WA's Proxy Server

• Start Netscape
• Along the Menu Bar at the top of the Window, click "Edit". From the drop down list select "Preferences" at the bottom of the list.
• A menu of options will appear as displayed in the window below:
• Click on the plus sign "+" next to the "Advanced" tab to drop down the "Cache", "Proxies" and "SmartUpdate" menus (if it is not already as above).
• Click on the "Proxies" Tab below the "Advanced" tab, the following Window will then be displayed:
• Click on the small white circle to the left of the line "Manual Proxy Configuration". You will see the dot in the circle in the diagram above.
• Click the "View" bar to the left of the same line. The following Window will be displayed:
• As in the above diagram, fill in each box with the text as indicated. The Proxy Server to use is

  proxy.wa.apana.org.au
   and the port is 
  8080
   (eight thousand and eighty). Fill in all the 
  boxes except "SOCKS Host" and "No Proxy for:" Click OK when you're done.

• If using our 56k dialup lines, you must enter

  proxy-56k.wa.apana.org.au

  and port

  80

  (eighty), above.
• You will need to click OK a further two times, in order to implement the changes you have made.
