APANA® is the Registered Trademark of the Australian Public Access Network Association Inc.
APANA W.A. creates a "user area" [i.e. a directory] on the server Odyssey for each registered member, defined by the member's user name. The user area is used to store email and other files needed to support that particular member's access to Odyssey facilities. This area can also be used to host a home page for the member.
Odyssey will automatically present an HTML file named: index.html or index.htm, in a subdirectory "public_html" within the user area, as the member's home page whenever the following URL is accessed:
~username/
(where username is the member's user name)
The home page file can contain whatever content you wish and can also link to other files created either in the subdirectory "public_html", or to further subdirectories below "public_html". It is up to the user to define how this should be structured.
Guides to good HTML structured design are readily available on the web and are beyond the scope of this article; however, the single home page file is all you need to get started. For the purposes of this exercise, let us name it "index.html".
