APANA® is the Registered Trademark of the Australian Public Access Network Association Inc.
This page contains links to files both on Odyssey and external sites - applications, tools, anonymous ftp site, etc..
Technical note, if a link does something strange like point you to wa.apana.org.au/filename, it is pointless telling us the link as netscape or whatever you are using has munged it. You would do better to cut the portion of the page containing the link, with just its label, or use lynx which doesnt tend to munge links.

SLIP or PPP connection, we have all the programs you need for setting up
your connection.
Winsocks FTP Area
A link to the ftp site available on Odyssey. It contains the more useful
winsock applications and tools. Please check here first when looking for
something rather than using our already conjested Internet link. Note,
that you can access the files by doing a 'cd /ftp ', and download
them (before SLIP/PPP is setup) by using z-modem, y-modem, x-modem commands
(sz sb sx respectively).
The file pap.cmd is the recommended dial script to use for connecting to Odyssey through Trumpet Winsock 2.1. Trumpet Winsock 3.0 users should use the file papnew.cmd. Windows 95 users can use the file odyssey.scp. Windows NT users can use the file odyssey-nt.scp We also recommend that you use PPP instead of SLIP, as it is better and faster.
Don't forget the enable and set-up PAP login
Please Note:
To utilise the files below you will need to first download WinZip 6.2
for Windows
3.1/3.11 or Windows
95 to unzip and extract them if you do not already have such a utility.
Alternatively, make use of 7zip.
